Packing Tips for Your Move
Moving can be a stressful time, but there are ways to make it less so. One of the best ways to reduce stress is to be prepared. That’s why we’ve put together this list of packing tips to help you get started.
1. For heavy items, use small boxes. Heavy items (such as books and dishes and pans) are placed in smaller boxes to make them easier to lift. Larger boxes are better for light items.
2. Place heavy items on the bottom.
3. Fill in the blanks with packing peanuts or crumpled up paper so that your items don’t shift during the move.
4. Securely tape boxes so that they don’t come open during the move.
5. Purchase specialized moving boxes (such as wardrobe boxes) if you have specific items that need extra care while moving.
6. You can also try moving your clothes without taking them off the hangers by using wardrobe boxes.
7. Start packing a little bit each day if you have time before your move to make it less overwhelming.
8. And, on the day of the move, give yourself plenty of time to pack everything and load it into the truck.
Moving can be stressful, but by following these guidelines, you can make it a little less so. By being prepared and taking your time, you can ensure that your move goes smoothly.
