Bayview Village is an affluent area in the city of Toronto area in the province of Ontario, Canada. Toronto’s Ward 17 is a part of the federal Don Valley North riding, the provincial Don Valley North electoral district, and the federal Don Valley North electoral district.
The majority of the residences in Bayview Village were constructed between 1954 and 1964. Raised and executive ranch style bungalows, split-level houses, and Georgian Revival-style homes are among the types of housing available in this neighborhood.
The majority of the buildings are original. Many homes have received renovations and landscaping to make them more in keeping with the park-like setting of the neighborhood. Within the Bayview Village neighborhood, there has been an increase in infill housing.
High-rise condominium building continues to take place along Sheppard Avenue as well as in the property south of Sheppard Avenue and north of Highway 401, among other places. The architecture of this development is diametrically opposed to the single-family suburban low-rise architecture that may be found in the northern area.
In Bayview Village, just one public school board is in charge of the schools: the Toronto District School Board, which is secular and teaches English as a first language (TDSB).
The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) operates public elementary schools in the neighborhood. It operates two primary education institutions: Bayview Middle School and Elkhorn Public School, both of which are located in Elkhorn.
There is no secondary school in the neighbourhood, with students from the CSV and TDSB secondary schools who live in Bayview Village attending institutions in neighboring neighbourhoods instead.
The Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) and its French-language counterpart, the Conseil scolaire catholique MonAvenir (CSCM), both public separate school boards, provide educational opportunities to residents in Bayview Village who meet the eligibility requirements.
They do not, however, operate a school in the surrounding area. School districts such as the CSCM and the TCDSB send pupils to schools in various parts of Toronto.
The Bayview Village Tennis Club, which is the home of tennis legend Pete Sampras A community tennis club, Daniel Nestor, has been serving the residents of Bayview Village since 1975. The Bayview Village Association was the driving force behind the project. At the conclusion of the 2008 tennis season, the courts at Bayview Village Tennis Club were entirely reconstructed from the ground up.
In today’s world, Bayview Village Tennis Club is still regarded as the top tennis club in the city of North Toronto. Bayview Village Park also has free public tennis courts that are open to the public.
In this neighbourhood, the North York YMCA, which is located at the southeast corner of Bayview Avenue and Sheppard Avenue, is the major recreational facility. Children’s gymnastics, karate, swimming, and basketball programs are among the many activities available at this YMCA. Adults can participate in aerobics, yoga, and aquafit classes at this facility as well. A gymnasium, a dance studio, a conditioning room, a main swimming pool with lanes, and a training swimming pool are all available at this facility.
